Ten days, five kingdoms, one royal Rajasthan odyssey
The 10-Day Golden Triangle with Rajasthan is India’s most complete royal circuit — the classic Delhi–Agra–Jaipur triangle extended deep into the heart of Rajputana. Two nights in Delhi to soak up Old and New Delhi’s layered grandeur, a full Agra day witnessing the Taj Mahal at both sunrise and sunset, then onward into Rajasthan’s most magnificent cities: the Pink City of Jaipur, the Blue City of Jodhpur with its sky-scraping Mehrangarh Fort, and finally Udaipur — the shimmering City of Lakes with its floating palaces and royal ghats. This is Rajasthan done right: at an unhurried pace, with space to wander, linger, and truly feel every city’s soul. No rush. No compromise. Absolutely unforgettable.

Your detailed itinerary
Welcome to India’s capital! Your guide meets you at the airport and transfers you to your hotel. After freshening up, plunge into the magnificent chaos of Old Delhi — hop a cycle rickshaw through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk, browse the heady aromas of Khari Baoli spice market, and stand beneath the soaring arches of Jama Masjid. Wander the historic Shahjahanabad lanes, pausing for jalebis, chaat, and a glass of sweet lassi at every corner. End the evening with dinner and the dazzling Akshardham Temple Sound & Light Show — an epic multimedia spectacle telling the story of ancient India.

A full day in New Delhi’s grand Mughal and colonial heart. Begin at Qutub Minar, the soaring UNESCO-listed 12th-century minaret and its enigmatic Iron Pillar that has defied rust for 1,600 years. Sweep through the imperial axis — Rajpath, the eternal flame of India Gate, and the presidential grandeur of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Visit Humayun’s Tomb, the sublime Mughal garden mausoleum that directly inspired the Taj Mahal, and stroll serene Lodhi Garden among medieval tombs and flowering trees. Spend the afternoon at the National Museum, home to one of Asia’s finest collections spanning 5,000 years of art, sculpture, and civilisation. End at the architecturally stunning Lotus Temple.

After a leisurely breakfast, take the Yamuna Expressway south to Agra. Arrive by early afternoon, check in, then head straight to the Taj Mahal for the most magical hour of the day — golden-hour sunset. Watch the white marble shift from ivory to amber to deep rose as the sun dips below the horizon. The silence, the symmetry, the sheer scale — no photograph prepares you for it. Round off the evening with a visit to the formidable Agra Fort, the Mughal seat of empire overlooking the Yamuna, and the poignant window where Shah Jahan spent his final years gazing at his greatest creation.

- Agra Fort
- Mehtab Bagh (Moonlight Garden)
Rise before dawn for the trip’s most magical moment — the Taj Mahal at sunrise. The marble glows gold and blush pink in the first rays, serene and nearly crowd-free — a vision you will carry forever. After breakfast and check-out, drive toward Jaipur with a leisurely stop at Fatehpur Sikri, Emperor Akbar’s spectacular red sandstone capital abandoned in 1585 after just 14 years. Explore the Buland Darwaza (the world’s tallest gateway), the five-storey Panch Mahal, and the exquisite shrine of Salim Chishti before continuing to the Pink City. Check in and enjoy a welcome Rajasthani dinner.

A full day in the Pink City with all its crown jewels. Begin with an elephant ride up to the magnificent Amber Fort, exploring its dazzling mirror palace (Sheesh Mahal) and panoramic hilltop ramparts. Then descend into the city: photograph the 953-window honeycomb facade of Hawa Mahal, marvel at the astronomical precision of Jantar Mantar (UNESCO), and tour the opulent City Palace still home to Jaipur’s royal family. Browse the vibrant bazaars of Johari and Bapu for gemstones, block-print textiles, and blue pottery. End with a spectacular Rajasthani folk dinner and cultural show under the stars.

After breakfast, drive west into the Thar Desert heartland to Jodhpur, the Sun City — where every house in the old quarter is painted a brilliant shade of cobalt blue. Check in, then make straight for Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest and most formidable forts in India, rising 400 feet above the city on a sheer rocky crag. The museum inside holds breathtaking armouries, howdahs, palanquins, and royal chambers. Wander through the winding blue lanes of the old city, visit Jaswant Thada’s exquisite white marble cenotaph, and end with a traditional Marwari thali dinner at a local haveli rooftop — with the lit fort glowing against the night sky behind you.

After an early breakfast, drive south through the Aravalli hills with a magnificent stop at Ranakpur — home to one of the most extraordinary Jain temples in the world. Built in 1439, the Chaumukha Temple contains 1,444 intricately carved marble pillars, each uniquely different, all gleaming white in the forest light. It is one of the most astonishing architectural achievements in India. Continue onward to Udaipur, the City of Lakes, arriving in the evening. Check into your hotel and take your first stroll along the ghats of Lake Pichola as the city lights begin to shimmer on the water.

A full day in Udaipur — arguably India’s most romantic city. Begin at the magnificent City Palace, a vast complex of palaces, courtyards, and hanging gardens rising dramatically above Lake Pichola, housing the finest collection of Rajput royal artefacts, paintings, and coloured glass inlay work in Rajasthan. Then board a boat on Lake Pichola for a gliding tour past the iconic Lake Palace (once a royal retreat, now a luxury hotel floating on water) and the island garden of Jag Mandir. As the sun sets, drive up to Sajjangarh — the Monsoon Palace — for sweeping panoramic views over the lakes, palaces, and the Aravallis turning gold. End with a candlelit lakeside dinner at a haveli restaurant.

Visit the Bharatiya Lok Kala Museum, celebrating the vibrant folk art, puppetry, and tribal culture of Rajasthan. Then lose yourself for a few hours in the Hathi Pol and Bada Bazaar — Udaipur’s old bazaars overflowing with silver jewellery, miniature paintings, tie-dye fabrics, and hand-crafted leather. Enjoy a final leisurely Rajasthani dinner at a lakeside restaurant before an early night ahead of departure.
